Learning from children, indigenous cultures, and Nature

Invitation for planning a confluence of people who are deeply concerned and open to discussing what is happening to children today in the name of education and ‘progress’…that they are being infantilized and crippled by ‘modern’ parenting styles, school and advertising — with excessive care, instructions, and unhealthy products.

A campaign for re-thinking, re-imagining, and re-researching what exactly children need and how we provide that.

Mind you, the only species that is into parenting workshops are humans. It looks like the more educated and developed one is, the more alienated we are, from life’s process. So, the confluence is needed to focus on where we are going wrong and to ensure that children do not become alienated like us.

There is a need to respect the inherent abilities of children, to create conditions for them to awaken their potential in a process-oriented (rather than product-oriented and productivity-focussed) environment.

It is time to look at how we became anthropocentric — interpreting the world in terms of modern human values and experiences. There is still hope to sensitively create an environment for children to retain their inborn nature-centric beingness — to experience the world in terms of natural values.

We are not only facing existential crises from the kind of world we have created but also from our own way of knowing and being. The primary crisis is the crisis in cognition- in not knowing what to know, how to learn, and how to be.

Children need to be in NATURE, to BE NATURE!

Children are the best guides in this journey to recovery by learning sensitively from them what is to be truly alive, to be present, to be playful, to be non-dual, to be innocent, to be choicelessly truthful for they exist in truth, to be choicelessly courageous for they exist in courage, to awaken intelligence because that is the way of nature….

The second choice is to learn from the illiterates for they are nature itself. They are learning the WORLD choicelessly unlike us, the literates who are conditioned to learn the WORD from childhood.

The third is from nature herself- the way she is.

The conference is planned, not like a top-down process, but collaboration at all levels to connect, explore and initiate rethinking amongst us.

There is still hope to sensitively create an environment for children to retain their inborn nature-centric beingness — to experience the world in terms of natural values.

We intend, through this confluence, to explore how we may reclaim our own innate nature, and return to deep meaning through authentic presence — our indigeneity.
