INVITATION FOR fresh RESEARCH on children, learning process, creativity, spontaneity…
We are inviting you to be part of process-oriented research to re-understand children as beings endowed by life with qualities, and abilities to evolve into a sensitive, creative, and spontaneous, and intelligent being, autonomously, provided the conducive conditions exist. The very process of research will enable us, the researchers, to recover our life-given gifts that have been numbed by education in particular and modern conditions in general.
We have reduced the total experience of life into a very narrow spectrum within teaching and learning. The result of this is that we have begun to see children as helpless beings that need to be taught every aspect of life. So much so that even play is being taught by ‘playworkers’ apart from what is called life skills where emotion is taught! We have also reduced the total experience of life within the realm of language whereby we have created the illusion that the mysteries and the beauty of the world can be understood by mere reading. In that process, the modern human being has become totally
distrustful of their own bodies, instincts, biology, and life.
Modern education is the biggest crime against children and life.
Existential Research is experiential, but by learning to observe children without the biases, judgments, etc whereby one learns to be objective. The researcher will have to address their own cognitive damages in the process, unlearn, de-school in order to reactivate their natural, life-given system to make sense. So existential research is a two-way process whereby as we engage with children objectively, we recover our natural system.
Purpose of Research –
• To recover our natural way of knowing which is to have the ability to create knowledge instead of analyzing second-hand ‘knowledge’
• To reawaken the senses, to reactivate the ‘process of knowing’, to restructure the conditioned cognitive structure. In short to be an authentic learner and CREATOR of knowledge.
• To re-understand children as being equipped by life to be totally capable of making sense of their world and create knowledge of it autonomously.
• To learn how to be with children sensitively so that we create conditions and spaces for awakening the inherent ability in children.
• To understand how nature learns- natural learning and how unnatural learning began in humans
• To recreate conducive conditions and spaces for children’s true development, unfoldment
The Process of Research-
• Existential Research is a research process in which the researcher is the first and foremost subject of research. It is rooted in experience and it is to reclaim one’s ability to be in experience.
Naturally, one’s own cognitive damages would be addressed in the process.
• Non interfered observation and documentation of what children do spontaneously
• The communication of this research has to be primarily in the form of videos and images as through the medium of language no proper communication is possible.
Areas of Research-
• Natural Learning Process — Direct Knowing, experience, why nature learns, etc
• Unnatural Learning Process — Mediated Knowing and its impact, damages of literacy, schooling, teaching, etc
• Children and Learning- language Play, toy, Values, Drawing, storytelling, misconceptions about art, Formation of mind, instinct, Body movement, Damages, quantification, Relationship, Social, Impact of literacy, digital
• Alienation and Existential Crisis-
• Western research -
• Indigenous knowledge system
What will happen to the Research-
The research findings will be made public free of cost, maybe through a well-designed web interface.
Who can Participate-
Anybody who is truly interested in Learning and children can participate in this research. There should be a willingness to go deeper into the research.
We are inviting collaboration at various levels apart from participation in direct research which is various technical and financial support.
